Visit PTDC Pakistan tourism development corporation Islamabad and meeting with Managing Director Aftaab Rehman and take an interview about tourism in Pakistan. He is the managing director of PTDC. He is the member of Pakistan national tourism foundation and also the member of sdgs. Status of tourism in Pakistan before COVID-19 and after COVID-19 changes in tourism rapidly and very effective changes in tourism. Basically Pakistan have totally domestic tourist. Foreigner tourists are very less amount in Pakistan. Over 6 million tourists in Pakistan they all are out of their homes and visiting different places. In Pakistan 96% tourists are domestic and the 4%are foreigner’s tourists.
Mainly Pakistan have domestic tourisms. After COVID-19 there are very less amount in foreign tourists in Pakistan. because international movements flow down and decreased and connectivity issues with other countries l. therefore there are very insufficient tourists in Pakistan. In mountain areas there are very large amounts of tourists specially Gilgit Baltistan and KPK sides swat, Dir, etc. Therefore issues for tourists are not good services, regulatory mechanism system are weak, law and order issues, for foreigners security threats create disturbance in Pakistan. International flight issues are also big problems, expensive tickets for foreigners.
Hotels restaurants are not good for foreigners except five star hotels. Shortage of direct flights .In the past years Govt. were not have interest on foreign tourisms. Infrastructure level are not good. therefore the development of tourism in Pakistan is not good. Tourism Benefits , There have not enough income to Pakistan in foreign tourisms .Economic development benefits. In Pakistan GDP 5 to 6% contribution of tourists in Pakistan direct and indirect. Both direct and indirect 3% share in economy GDP. In current situation the tourism economy 2000 billion include in Pakistan economy . Employment opportunities are good level due to tourisms 15 to 16 lac people are get employed due to tourisms directly.
