Electric vehicles are saving the climate — and our lives.

The largest source of climate pollution in Pakistan is transportation, the carbon emissions of transportation sector are contributing towards many issues of the society. To solve the rising problems and concern of people towards climate crisis, it is important to move society towards safer environment, pollution free and reduced vehicular emissions, as we have only a decade left to change the way we use energy to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

Emissions from vehicles are not only bad for our planet, they’re bad for our health. Air pollutants from gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles cause asthma, bronchitis, cancer, and premature death. The long-term health impacts of localized air pollution last a lifetime, with the effects borne out in asthma attacks, lung damage, and heart conditions.

These problems are the wakeup call for Pakistan to move towards innovation and greener inventions, which will contribute towards the betterment of societies.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are a strong weapon in the world's efforts against global warming. Electric vehicles give us cleaner streets making our towns and cities a better place to be. In over a year, just one electric car on the roads can save an average 1.5 million grams of CO2. 

The paradigm shift towards the electric vehicles wont be easy, changing the minds of millions of people and breaking the stereotypes related to new innovations is not an easy task. The government cannot do advocacy alone, instead it is the responsibility of each and every citizen, more specifically the youth, to advocate and promote the use of electric vehicles. Electric Vehicles doesn't only mean the fancy and exorbitant cars like tesla and Audi, either the EV's can be an electric bicycle and bike too, which is the most convenient and cheap form of electric vehicle for the age of all groups. The purpose of writing this blog is to support and advocate the use of electric vehicles, most probably an electric bike or scooty as daily transportation for students. Students are the first key towards this paradigm shift. The green future is possible if we all take part and perform the roles according to our capacities.
