It all started as a mere project as the part of a course but as time passed, it became more personal and closer to our hearts as we saw how difficult are the lives of the underprivileged.
Out of the 1 million total population of Islamabad, around 4 hundred thousand are resident of slums (UNICEF 2020). The resident of these slums live under miserable conditions. they do not have access to clean water, proper sanitation and plumbing, proper living arrangements, no education especially to the children, no access to electricity and many more issues.
The people of the slums are treated as outcasts and their recognition is equal to none in the general society. The government institutes have not made any major contribution for the development of slums, the people have turned their backs on them and the people of the slums are left on their own. It seems like they have no significance in the social setup of the country.
The purpose of our project is to contribute to the development of slums areas in Pakistan and amplify the importance of the rights of the people of the slums which they are deprived of. We hope that this project lays the foundation of a movement which advocates for the betterment of the underprivileged and help them achieve a better standard of living.
Our target is to provide the slums of Pakistan with sustainable, renewable and cheap electricity. We aim to install solar panels in the slums so that they can have their own power supply.
This project is currently taking place in Rawalpindi/Islamabad.
You guys are done very well because we must know the society of poor people and there conditions.. We also find out the solutions of their problems and government must do something for their lives.
