MEETING AT IESCO

The story of meeting at IESCO begins On Thursday 16 December; we arranged a meeting with Islamabad electric supply company (IESCO). We made a fruitful meeting with (ENG) MUHAMMAD SAJID HANIF. Who is the XEN (E) of IESCO F/ Block subdivision Rawalpindi. We were the group of five members and we all were the part of this informative meeting. For this meeting, we arranged our transport from university to that event location and reached IESCO office in a half an hour before the meeting time. We already prepared our questionnaires which we were going to ask with the respected responder. Respected (ENG) MUHAMMAD SAJID was very supportive’ and he has cooperated with us throughout the meeting session. He thoroughly read our SAP proposal with a keen attention and asked several question from us regarding “Energy conservation and efficiency education among youth “initiative. After it, he put a glance on “NUML ENERGY CONSERVATION POLICY” draft and became the part of this policy by giving the suggestions. The crux of this meeting include following things.

ENGINEER MUHAMMAD SAJID HANIF read the energy audit and give a way to us how different devices consume energy by using different watts e:g He compared the electricity consumption and consumer cost of 40 W tube light  and 18 W LED bulb.    Monthly Electricity consumption of 40 W tube light is Tube light (40W) → 37620 kWh-1 units Whereas LED (18W) →1600    kWh-1 units. He gave an alternative option for making energy policy. He suggested the installation of bidirectional meters for the conservation of energy by taking efficiency measures. Bidirectional meters are the new power policy of government that general public installs bidirectional meters at subsidies rate. Generally electricity is always available in a power line and whenever no user is available to use this electricity, at that time this electricity go waste and we do not save it. But, by using bidirectional meters this unused electricity is again move back to the grid.  Bidirectional meter installation also has an economic benefit for the consumer e: g Consumer sale those save units to the government with a heavy cost. After a brief meeting he gave us a letter of appreciation and also a letter of acknowledge for our enthusiasm and efforts.
