Social Action Project

In comparison to the social action project:  “Uraan” (Educating slum children) by BS-4 Morning/ session

1. The main similarity between our SAP project “Help stop poverty” and Senior’s Project “Uraan” was the Objective or basic moto which was to create awareness among people regarding poverty and the challenges Pakistan can face in the future, if not treated well in time. Uraan’s moto was to educate people about the importance of child education which links with poverty since the majority of children are not able to get an education due to the lack of finance or resources in slums. Both of the projects were focused on the betterment of society along with creating awareness. Another same objective was to undergo activities targeting all specific community members that encourage constant action and promote the concept of individual responsibility concerning the betterment of their own lives and community.

2. Prime Attention of both projects also corresponds since Uraan’s Prime attention was to educate children and their parents about the importance of education along with highlighting this issue within the educated community whereas our basic concerns were towards the educated community (students of NUML, Islamabad, Faculty and also students from other universities which were covered in our webinar mainly of NUML, Multan, TMUC, MUIC, Iqra University, University of Mianwali, Lahore Grammar school, Lahore) first, since they can raise awareness regarding poverty and the steps that can be taken in order to overcome such issues. All this was done through a proper awareness walk, campaign including awareness charts and posters, conducting interviews, Conducting webinars, distribution of pamphlets among people containing major information related to poverty and its way forward.
