The
story of ENERGY CONSERVATION CLUB is
start with the first initiative step to get to know about the background of the
public whom which we have concern. Those students who are the part of National
University of Modern Languages Islamabad and enroll their identity as a
student. To get this, we conducted an online survey and create a Google form
having questionnaires related to the energy topic on 20 November 2021 &
share it with a large part of community. Our major respondents are
undergraduate, students from different departments of NUML. We have collected total 90 responses from both men &
women. The duration of this survey was 10-15 days and finally the result was
displayed in a pie-chart and as well as on spread sheet for every question. The
purpose of this survey is to study the behavioral approach of students in term
of energy usage, its consumption & sustainability before starting our
Project.
From the data, it is visible that
students have somehow knowledge about energy, its sources, importance &
need. They also have an idea about how we conserve energy but individually they
do not actively participate in conserving energy. Only 46.8% are very positive
& aware towards energy conservation, 27.3% are neutral & 24.7% are
partially aware. Similarly only 25.6% are those who always turn off the lights
when they leave the room & rest of them is indifference & show
irresponsibility on their part. There is a need of awareness & active
citizenship in order to solve the growing problems of energy.
